Sue is a versatile, well-rounded leader with over 25 years experience in strategy, business process design and improvement. Her specializations include the healthcare services sector and IT industries. Sue’s breadth and depth of healthcare experience is embedded in a real and practical understanding of healthcare service development and delivery. Having held many roles across the industry (clinical administrative, payer, provider, business to business, etc.), she has a solid understanding of stakeholder issues and a keen ability to integrate people with organizational process and structures to drive a stronger bottom line. Moreover, Sue has had numerous successes in turnarounds and redesigns of organizational structures, resulting in increased company values and millions of dollars in revenues.
The key to her success lies in her ability to authentically connect with people. This, in addition to her analytical skill set, enables her to create systems and solutions that are consistent with the values of the owners.
Sue has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Speech Pathology, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Melbourne, Australia. She has authored, presented and published papers on various topics, ranging from the development and implementation of different service delivery models to bottom line improvements in the revenue cycle, including the power of Six Sigma and Lean in Healthcare and the impact of Mindfulness and Meditation in business. Sue is a Six Sigma Greenbelt Champion, a certified mediator and a former Board member of The Spirit of Being Human. She is a member of various healthcare related associations including the MGMA and is a member of the 2009 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Board of Examiners. In addition, she recently completed the Denver Leadership Arts Program.
Sue is the President and CEO of The Ripple Effect, a company specializing in helping organizations become more efficient and hence grow to become more profitable. She employs a variety of tools depending on the nature and needs of the organization, including process design and improvement, project management, coaching, strategy alignment, organizational redesign and training.
Sue has an ardent interest in mindfulness and how the practice of mindfulness can positively impact an organization. She is a certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher and a routine practitioner of meditation. She often uses mindfulness techniques in her consulting business.
A major objective of VIM Ventures, is to guide entrepreneurs and executives in taking their companies to the ‘next level’. A key aspect of our methodology is building solid, strategic foundations. Sue is highly skilled at creating and designing processes that naturally align with strategic direction, people (capabilities and culture), structure and systems.
